Class Three homework support
Here are some ideas to further support your child's learning.
This week in Class Three we are continuing to work on descriptive writing. We will be looking at how to improve our writing and practising editing both our own work and each other’s work. Here is a website with a fun game which helps to improve the children’s writing:
For Maths this week we will be continuing with our time work, with more focus on elapsed time. If your child is not secure in their reading of clocks in 5 minute blocks, please encourage them to use computer games and IXL to practice regularly. We will continue to work on our times tables, too. If your child is not confident with their times tables, please encourage them to play computer games or even verbal games with another person. Here is a website to help with telling the time:
In our topic work we will continue to look at the rainforest, which is our topic for the term. We will be studying a chosen rainforest animal, finding facts out about them and making a clay model of our animal. We will continue to look at animals in general as part of our Science topic.
Please also remind your child about daily reading, preferably to an adult, and to learn their spellings and tables ready for Friday’s test.
