Maths Fun Day 2016
Classes 3 and 4 had a Maths Fun Day recently where the teachers planned a full day of exciting activities involving code breaking and team work, culminating in finding hidden treasure! The pupils looked at shapes, co-ordinates, shopping, weighing and capacity throughout the day and had great fun working on the tasks and figuring out the problems to get the correct codes and answers.
‘I really loved maths fun day. It made some people realise how fun maths can be. The maths was really fun to learn, hence the name Maths Fun Day. Maybe you could do some of this kind of activity in class because I loved it and it was easier to learn and it didn’t really feel like we were doing maths. I LOVED IT!’ – Chia Brown (2016)
The pupils also had a maths activity book to complete in their own time. The children who had shown lots of effort and progress were rewarded with a prize.
A huge well done to everyone involved, the day was a great success and the teachers are already planning a ‘Literacy Fun Day!’
